Favorite Team To Win World Cup 2022 

As the date of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar is inching closer, the excitement is becoming more and more among the fans, professional players, and football enthusiasts. There is a debate going on around about who the favorite teams are, to win the world cup 2022

The intercontinental playoffs are over and the field for the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar has been set. Australia and Costa Rica are the last two teams to fill in the remaining spots in the group. Amongst the teams who have qualified to play in the world cup this time, there are a host of favorite teams. Let us dive into the magic of the game and give a look at the favorites this year in the first-ever winter world cup. 

Favorite team to win world cup 2022 

Brazil and France have been on the list of the favorites for several months now. But along with them, England and Spain are the two other teams who had shown a great promise. They too can be expected to give a good fight and are considered a favorite by experts and fans.  


This iconic team which is led by Neymar, Vincius Jr., featuring alongside star-studded supporting players, is a team to watch. Brazil indeed are been considered one of the favorites to win the world cup this year and extendsits record to five world cup victories. A lot has been already bet upon this team.  


They have lost the 2020 Euro finals, but indeed England is up there as a favorite along with France and Brazil. This promising team has a young generation of the talented attacking side who are evolving through the ranks. So, they are sure to give a good fight in this tournament without a doubt.  

This young side in the England team shall bring a combination of experience in Qatar, being a part of the semifinals and finals in back-to-back major tournaments. 


The reigning world champions are expected to give a tough fight to Brazil in this tournament. Surely, they are one of the frontrunners as the favorites. Although Les Blues have performed disappointingly in Euros, which saw them blow a 3-1 lead in the final ten minutes to Switzerland still, hopes are on them. 

By far they have the most talented side in this tournament and so it is expected that they should fiercely defend their title. France has been drawn into Group D along with Denmark, Tunisia, and Australia. 


Although Spain had underperformed in the last two editions of the world cup but, they have surely shown promise during the summer of Euro 2020, making their way to the semi-finals. They even have made it to the finals of the Nations League. And so, this indeed makes this team one of the biggest contenders for winning the world cup this year in Qatar.  

The other contenders 

Although Belgium has slipped its position in the FIF rankings still they are believed to be in its golden generation. Having the players like Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard who can turn the fate of the team any day.  

Portugal having Christiano Ronaldo cannot be taken lightly. Netherlands too has a great potential in their team to shock the world any day. It has been highly said too that in this edition of the world cup, there are many underdog teams who are expected to shine and may give a real shock as well.  

Team Denmark has their star in the squad, Christian Eriksen, who shall be a player to watch.  

The outsiders 

Croatia was the team to reach the final in the 2018 edition of the world cup. So, they cannot be taken easily. having immense potential to their side, they can turn the mood of the game on their day.  

There are a host of other teams too who are showing promise. Teams such as the United States with promising young players in their team, and Uruguay have a great experience on their side. The hosts Qatar, Canada, and Mexico are a threat too.  

Apart from the highly favorite teams, this edition of the world cup shall reveal the potential of many other teams as well who might end up winning the title.
