30-year-old forward and scoring machine Harry Kane showed what Bayern Munich were missing up front last season, after the all-time leading goal scorer for both Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team bagged his 18th and 19th goal in only 15 matches for the Bavarians in last night’s match in the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League Season. Thomas Tuchel’s squad hosted Galatasaray S.K. at the Allianz Arena yesterday for a Matchday 4 fixture in Group A, and found themselves qualified for the next phase of the top European club football competition with a 2-1 win over the no. 1 team in the Turkish Süper Lig at the moment.
The Bavarians Extended Their Perfect Record in the Champions League
Fresh from their 4-0 thrashing over Borussia Dortmund in the 109th Der Klassiker, Bayern had only one aim coming into their midweek game in the UEFA Champions League, that is, taking home all three points against Turkish outfit Galatasaray S.K. and book a place in the knockout round of the competition with two group games to spare, and that were exactly what Tuchel’s men did in yesterday’s game. It is worth noting that Joshua Kimmich, Bayern’s third captain, returned to the starting lineup of the team versus Galatasaray S.K. this time around, having missed last weekend’s German Clásico due to a suspension.
The match stayed all square for pretty much the entire game, until a combined scoring spree of three goals in the closing stages of the normal playing time and injury minutes. Entering the 80th minute, scoring machine Kane found the net for Bayern from the available-again Kimmich’s set-piece delivery. The 28-year-old’s freekick invited Kane to go ahead and score, which the scoring machine did it perfectly with his thumping header.
Six minutes later, substitute Victor Nelsson, who came on moments before scoring machine Kane’s opener, carelessly gave the ball away, and the England striker played it forward for Thomas Müller, who released fellow replacement Mathys Tel. The young striker sensation selflessly squared a superb ground delivery for the unguarded Kane for his second goal of the evening. Despite Cédric Bakambu came on to score a goal in the stoppage time, it would be a consolation for the visitors as Kane’s brace was enough for Bayern to emerge victorious and bag all three points to book a ticket in the Last 16 of the competition.

Scoring Machine Kane Now Has 19 Goals for Bayern
With yesterday’s outing against Galatasaray S.K, the 30-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur megastar and scoring machine Kane has bagged a staggering total of 19 goals in addition to seven assists in only 15 games in all competitions for his new club at Munich. Not only such statistics is amazing, the prolific forward also bashed away any speculations that he cannot adapt into a foreign football system, having played his whole senior club career in England.
Scoring machine Kane’s brace in last night’s European club football match allowed Bayern Munich to register their seventeenth consecutive Group Stage win in the UEFA Champions League, and the team will be looking forward to remain perfect in Group A in their two remaining matches, one against F.C. Copenhagen at home, and another versus Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Scoring machine Kane and Bayern Munich’s next opponents in the Champions League F.C. Copenhagen defeated Premier League juggernauts Manchester United in their own Matchday 4 fixture. The seven-goal thriller ended with the Danish side reaching second place, whereas the Red Devils are now bottom of Group A. Read this article to find out more.
