The long and gruesome wait for global basketball fans is almost over; The 2022–23 NBA season is just around the corner! The new season would be the 77th edition of the NBA season, and it is scheduled between October 2022 to June 2023. With less than a month to go before it begins, let us take a look at promising teams that will have their fair share of chances of winning the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy this time around.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State’s boys proved that they have no problem winning the NBA championship without megastar Kevin Durant last season. The Big 3 may now be in their thirties but Steph’s and Klay’s legendary shooting abilities as well as Dray’s elite defensive skill set showed no signs of fading away anytime soon. Besides, with the rising of the Third Splash Brother Jordan Poole and additions such as DiVincenzo and JaMychal Green, it would only be fair to say the Dubs are the clear favourites to win it all once again.
Boston Celtics
The Green was the best team in terms of record and stats in the latter half of the last season, but having gone 2-1 up with Game 4 played at home against the then champion, the Golden States Warriors, they let away a golden opportunity to surpass the Lakers on overall championships won by a whisker. The painful memory of finishing second place last season would be fueling the Boston Celtics to go one step further this year.
Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis Antetokounmpo is by far the most dominant player in the league right now, what’s more crazy is that being so superior in the game is not stopping the Greek Freak from adding more arsenals to his game; We are probably yet to see the best version of himself as a pro basketball player. Moreover, his partnership with Middleton and Holiday is the strong core to the Bucks’ efficient system, and the champions two seasons ago will look set to flourish with that system again this time.
Los Angeles Clippers
Health and durability have been the major issues for the Clippers in recent seasons, especially to both of their stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Nonetheless, the Clippers have developed their roster into a team of players that highlights the two-way game. Such a playing style would definitely help in their quest of pursuing glory, but the question remains would Kawhi and George stay healthy throughout the regular and postseason.
