Fabrizio Romano: “Thomas Müller Agrees on Signing New Deal at Bayern Until June 2025.”

German international Thomas Müller has been known a rare Mr. One Club Man in the modern football era, and the 34-year-old certainly showed no intentions to leave Bayern Munich anytime soon. According to many reliable reports, including that of Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Thomas Müller, who only had a few months left in his current contract at the Bavarians, decided to pen a new extension with the 33-time German champions earlier this week, and it is now more than likely that the veteran player will be retiring at the club he joined as a youth.

Thomas Müller Extended His Bayern Contract Till June 2025

Thomas Müller’s original contract was expiring after June 2024, and rumours have linked him to leave the German Bundesliga 1 and boyhood and longtime club to join Manchester United at the English Premier League. The scenario did not play out as Thomas Müller showed the strong desire to finish his professional club career at Bayern, and the current head coach of the Bavarians Thomas Tuchel also expressed his intention to retain the 34-year-old versatile attacker in his plans for the defending German league winners.

As mentioned in Romano’s tweet yesterday, “Thomas Müller has accepted FC Bayern contract proposal — he will sign new deal until June 2025. Done. Agreement reached as revealed by @cfbayern, Müller will not leave as free agent — staying one more year. Tuchel also spoke to Müller directly as he wanted him to stay”, Thomas Müller has agreed to sign a one-year extension with Bayern Munich, a deal that will keep him till the end of the 2024/2025 Season, and since Thomas Müller will be turning 36 in September 2025, Mr. Bayern Munich is expected to retire after his latest contract extension with the club.

Mr. Bayern Thomas Müller’s Career Thus Far

34-year-old Thomas Müller currently has two goals and five assists in 18 games in all competitions under his belt for Bayern Munich this season, bringing his total goal contributions for the club to a staggering 237 goals and 261 assists in 684 appearances over 16 seasons, with his professional debut for the senior side of Bayern Munich coming in the 2008/2009 Season. These superb goal and assist numbers from Thomas Müller saw him lead the German outfit to 12 German Bundesliga 1 titles, six DFB-Pokals, eight DFL-Supercups, and UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup trophies at two each.

At international level, Thomas Müller burst onto the scene in his inaugural appearance in the FIFA World Cup in 2010 with five goals, winning the Golden Boot and Best Young Player awards on Germany’s way to a third-placed finish at South Africa. He then followed up with his impressive debut at the quadrennial tournament with another five goals in Brazil, this time leading Die Mannschaft to become the joint-second most successful team in the history of the competition with four wins.

Although Germany’s records in the following editions of the FIFA World Cup and of late have been under par, Thomas Müller remains an important figure in the squad as the fourth most appearance maker and the joint-sixth best scorer at 126 caps and 45 goals.
